Montreal, Quebec, le June 10, 2007 - Sportimage.net -- Terrebonne, Quebec's Jeffrey Petriello endured a disappointing weekend as the Formula BMW USA series featured two races during prestigious the Canadian Grand Prix Formula 1 event in Montreal.
ROUND 3
Saturday June 9
Starting position : 4th
Finishing position : 11th
In Round 3, Jeffrey Petriello took the start of the race in 4th position. The young man fought hard on the track against some very determined competitors. However, his race was ruined when he was imposed a drive-through penalty while he was running in 4th place. Petriello nevertheless crossed the line in 11th place, just 39 seconds after the winner despite his costly drive-through penalty.
ROUND 4
Dsunday June 10
Starting position: 6th
Finishing position : 8th
On Sunday, Petriello took the start of the second race of the Grand Prix week-end in 6th place. He made a good start and fought hard again. He was running in 5th place when he started to experience brake problems that were serious enough to make him go straight at the hairpin corner at one point. Running wide, Petriello lost many positions in the process but managed to finish in 8th place.
"I am obviously disappointed with my results this weekend, said Petriello after the second race. In this race, I ran into some serious brake problems. The car was not braking properly and it was very unstable. One time, I could not avoid driving straight at the hairpin corner of the Jacques Cartier bridge. I ended up on the dirty portion of the track and I had some difficulties to steer back onto the racing line because it was simply too slippery. I was hoping to score better results but I know I can do a lot better in the next event."
Jeffrey Petriello took part in the BMW program thanks to the support of Autoccasion, 24 Power Canada energy drink (www.24power.ca) and SRA karting.
