ABU DHABI, TEST DAY 3: POSITIVE DAY FOR SCUDERIA COLONI WITH QUAIFE-HOBBS AND EBRAHIM

After two days of break, today it was time to get back on track for Scuderia Coloni and the other GP2 teams.

After fielding Jakes, Ceccon and Filippi in the first two days, the Italian team lined-up two GP2 rookies, Adrian Quaife-Hobbs and Armaan Ebrahim.

Despite being at his very first time on a GP2 car, Quaife-Hobbs delivered a very good job, carrying out the schedule planned with the team and improving as he got acquainted with the car and with the Bridgestone tyres.

At the end of the day his best lap was 1'48"228, good for P11 and 1.2" better than what he did in the morning.

It was a very fruitful day also for Armaan Ebrahim: the Indian driver was at his third day of testing on the Abu Dhabi track and his feeling with the team staff was immediately good. The team was very happy of his progress throughout the day, resulting in a 1" second improvement from the morning to the afternoon session, and a best lap of 1'48"857, his best performance in the whole 3 days.

Tomorrow Quaife Hobbs will be with Scuderia Coloni again, so he will have the time to make the most of today's experience and to climb the standings, while the other car will be driven by Karun Chandhok, test driver for Hispania F1 in 2010.

Adrian Quaife-Hobbs: "I am very grateful for the oppurtunity that Scuderia Coloni have given me, to test the GP2 car for two days in Abu Dhabi. I am very pleased with the way the team worked and also with my pace on day 1. We worked well together today and although we finished 21st at the end of the morning session, we have worked our way up to 11th already so i am looking forward to tomorrow now".

Armaan Ebrahim: "Today was a good day with Coloni. I achieved my best lap over the three days and closed the gap down to the top half. I was really at ease with the team, they are a good bunch of guys with a lot of experience, and I think they are among the stronger teams in GP2".
