Alexander Sims named BRDC SuperStar

GP3 RACING DRIVER ALEXANDER SIMS CONFIRMED AS A BRDC SUPERSTAR FOR THIRD YEAR RUNNING

GP3 racing driver Alexander Sims has today been confirmed as part of this year's BRDC SuperStars Programme. 2011 will mark the third year that Alexander has been part of this prestigious scheme.

Now in its fourth year, the Programme was launched to support British drivers develop their professional motor sport careers and is well regarded amongst both drivers and the wider racing community.

Those on the Programme are supported with a series of events and workshops throughout the year that are designed to enhance their training away from the racing environment. This training includes guidance on physical and mental training, media training, marketing, sponsorship advice, on-going team building exercises and tailor made progression workshops.

Alexander's relationship with the BRDC's Programme dates back to 2008 where, following a successful season in Formula Renault, he earned 'Rising Star' status from the Club. This status is awarded to young drivers who have displayed excellence in their chosen category of racing and are believed to have potential to achieve their racing goals.

2009 saw the BRDC acknowledge Alexander's continuous and impressive rise through the motorsport ranks by inviting him to join the SuperStars Programme; the next step up from Rising Stars. 2011 will see Alexander, who is managed by Gravity Sport Management, embark on the next stage of his motorsport career as he competes in the GP3 Series for the Status GP team, with the first round taking place in Turkey on 7th and 8th May.

Alexander and the other SuperStars will experience their first group event on February 15th when they travel to RAF Cranwell in Lincolnshire, for a day of Fighter Pilot Aptitude Training. RAF Cranwell is the oldest Air Force College in the world and the Royal Air Force's most prestigious training unit.
