SMP Racing protege Isaakyan took part in the two final rounds of this year's campaign with the Finnish squad and scored points at Yas Marina.
The 17-year-old has raced primarily in Formula Renault 2.0 the past two seasons, taking four wins in the Alps series and finishing 10th overall in the Eurocup.
Isaakyan spent all three days of the GP3 post-season test at Yas Marina with Koiranen and was joined by the team's 2015 regular Matt Parry, FR2.0 frontrunners Jack Aitken and Jake Hughes, as well as F3 driver Nabil Jeffri.
Calling time on FR2.0 programme
Despite its track record as one of the most successful Formula Renault 2.0 teams of the past few seasons, Koiranen has confirmed it will no longer field cars in either the Eurocup or the Alps series in 2016 - instead opting to focus on GP3 and running the SMP F4 and Spanish F4 championships.
"With champions such as Kevin Korjus, Daniil Kvyat, Carlos Sainz Jr, Nyck de Vries or Jack Aitken, we have proven in just a few years to be a very strong competitor in the category," said team boss Afa Heikkinen. "Today, we are ready to take new challenges and aim for new titles."
The Eurocup FR2.0 series is expected to unveil a teams' entry list for the coming season shortly.
