Fischer Racing to debut on European stage with Ford GT

After a successful premire in the German ADAC GT Masters, Fischer Racing from is heading to England for the next challenge. The German team will make it's FIA GT3 European championship debut with two Ford GT this weekend at Silverstone.

The two Fischer Racing-Ford GT will be driven at the season opener by two strong driver parings, with a mixture of promising young talents and experienced sportscar pros. One of the V8-engineed supercars will be driven by Florian Gruber (26, Germany) along with Christoffer Nygaard (23, Denmark). Both drivers had been successful with Fischer Racing in the German Seat Leon Supercopa and are set to climb up the ladder with the FIA GT3 European championship. Florian Gruber won in the highly competitive Seat one makes series with Fischer Racing in 2006, while Christoffer Nygaard took rank three in the championship last year.

The second Fischer-Ford GT will be entered at the season opener in England for the former DTM driver Harald Becker (55, Germany) and Christian Hohenadel (32, Germany). Sportscar veteran "Harry" Becker and Christian Hohenadel bring a lot of wealthy experience with different GT3 sportscars to the team and will drive the exiting Ford GT in Silverstone for the first time.

After extensive preseason testing in Hungary, Spain and the South of France and after a successful debut in the German ADAC GT Masters, Fischer Racing travels well prepared to England. In the European championship the German team will be faced with hard competition. A total of 42 GT3-sportscars of twelve different manufacturers are entered for the season opener at the famous Formula One track in Northamptonshire. This years FIA GT3 European championship will race on six different tracks, with two races held on each meeting. Every race weekend will host two 60-minute races with one driver change.

Team principal Hardy Fischer is anxious about the first running of his team on the European stage: "We have two strong driver's parings and are very well prepared. I can't wait for our European debut at Silverstone!
