"The finish at Daytona was disappointing, but there were plenty of positives that didn't show up in the finish order. It was Scott's (McDougall) first race as team director and the communication went very well. Scott and the team gave me a good racecar. Ray (Evernham) was there to assist. It doesn't hurt to have one of the best crew chiefs ever on your pit box for a race. I really think we had something for the front runners at Daytona. Unfortunately, we had the transmission problem at the start of the race and didn't get to show it.
"I'm really looking forward to the race at Chicagoland. We've learned more and more each week about the new nose for the Dodge Charger and I think we've reached the point where all the hard work by the No. 19 Dodge Dealers/UAW Dodge Charger team and Evernham Motorsports will show in our on-track performance."
