15-year-old, Jesse Smith announces plans to run the full ASA Late Model Series Schedule in 2005.

Another young up and coming driver has thrown his hat into the ring in the bid for the Pat Bourdow Memorial Rookie of the Year title chase as 15-year-old, Jesse Smith has announced his intentions on running the full ASA Late Model Series Presented by GM Performance Parts schedule for the 2005 season.

I'm looking forward to the upcoming season." Said Smith. "We plan on running every race with the ASA Late Model Series this season, hopefully we can come and win rookie of the year and be competitive with the talent in this series." The St. Louis MO pilot joins an already impressive list of young rookie contenders for the Pat Bourdow Memorial Rookie of the Year title chase which includes, other teenage sensations, Chase Austin, Keeton Hanks and Garrett Stonum.

Over his brief career, Jesse has always been at the top of his game his whole life with over 300 victories in various divisions and series'. At the tender age of just five years old, he started out in quarter midgets and JCSA. He quickly moved up through the ranks and won multiple national titles in the series. Jesse's next step at age nine was racing the Bandoleros division, where he soon won the national championship. When Jesse turned 12, he felt it was time to move up to the Legend cars where he won an outstanding amount of races and numerous national championships on both dirt and pavement.

Jesse will carry sponsorship on his Chevrolet Monte Carlo for the 2005 season from Hormel Foods (www.hormel.com) and Spam (www.spam.com). While more sponsorship on the side of his car will come from PPG, Suspension Spring Specialists, and Cooper Color Inc.
