In order to know a little more about the Estoril circuit, the stage for the last event of the 2015 European Le Mans Series, we met the drivers that can tell us the most about the place, the Portuguese drivers who will race at the 4 Hours of Estoril this week-end.

We asked three questions to each of the drivers to give some good reasons to come and meet the teams and drivers.

Filipe Albuquerque

JOTA Sport Gibson 015S n°38 is one the local star this week-end as he is fighting for the 2015 LMP2 ELMS championship title along with his British team mates Simon Dolan and Harry Tincknell.

1) What do you think of European Le Mans Series?

It is a fantastic championship. Nice racing tracks, competitive teams and drivers with full grids and a really nice environment. With all of this of course the championship is growing more and more and next year’s calendar is even more attractive.

2) What is your objective at Estoril this week-end ?

That is very easy to guess. First is the Championship title and if possible with a win on the race.

3) Tell us one special thing about the Estoril race track

The first win of Ayrton Senna was in Estoril in 1985 the year that I was born.

Filipe Barreiros

Barreiroa will drive n°64 GTC AF Corse Ferrari 458 Italia GT3 in Estoril this week-end.

2) What is your objective at Estoril this week-end ?

Our goal is to win the race in our class.

3) Tell us one special thing about the Estoril race track

It is an old one. Very technical and very tough physically. But it is in a very special place and has a great atmosphere.

Francisco Guedes

Guedes will drive along his teammate Filipe Barreiros.

1) What do you think of European Le Mans Series ?

In my opinion i think that is a great championship. Very well organized, great circuits and top environment.

2) What is your objective at Estoril this week-end ?

A podium finish in my home Race is the main objective!

3) Tell us one special thing about the Estoril race track

For me Estoril is the most important track. It is the one where I spend time when I was a kid, seeing all the top F1 drivers, and is the track that I learnt to drive racing cars..

So, for me, it’s unique!

The only Portuguese team on the grid

Algarve Pro Racing is the only Portuguese team on the grid this season. Although there is no Portuguese driver in the lineup, the team will be keen on racing at home.

The 4 Hours of Estoril will be your home race as you are the only Portuguese team on the starting grid, There must be pride to race in front of your home crowd. What do you expect from this last race ?

It is a pleasure and honour to race in Estoril in front of our fans. We look forward to contributing to making this a great race and event, not only for ELMS, but for Portugal.

Algarve Pro Racing is the only team entering a Ligier JS P2 with Nissan engine this season, what can you say about the car ?

The Ligier JS P2 has proved to be 100% reliable in the previous two ELMS races and private testing. The drivers are all confident with the overall performance of the Ligier.

What can you or/and your drivers say about the Estoril race track ?

Estoril is a track we are comfortable testing at, our drivers know this track well and we are looking forward to the challenge of competing here in the ELMS race.
