Team RED BULL SAUBER PETRONAS continued its three-day test in Valencia today, in favourable weather conditions. Both Nick Heidfeld and Kimi Räikkönen completed aerodynamic test work in the morning. Nick continued that programme in the afternoon Kimi Räikkönen did a simulated race distance. Kimi recorded the seventh fastest time in 1m 15.22s, with Nick eighth on 1m 15.25s.

Jacky Eeckelaert (Head of Test Team): "I'm happy with the way our test went today. It was a lot smoother than yesterday! This morning both Nick and Kimi conducted further aero test work, and we were fortunate when we detected a small oil leak on Nick's engine before the situation worsened. He lost time while we rectified this, so we scrapped our planned tyre programme this afternoon and he continued the aero work instead. Kimi Räikkönen completed a full race simulation of 75 laps, complete with two refuelling stops, and this went well. "

Nick Heidfeld: "I feel we had a very difficult day. It was lucky that we spotted the oil leak this morning, but it's a shame that we lost valuable track time. The team invested a lot of time to finalise all the set-ups we worked through today, and we made further progress."

Kimi Räikkönen: "I was happier today than I was yesterday. I feel that I go quicker every time I go out in the car, and I am getting more and more confident with each run. The track requires good balance and is quite slippery and difficult, but the race simulation went very well and I enjoyed my day very much."
