Mugello: Monday quotes
The round at Mugello ended with the victory of Andrea Caldarelli in race one and that of Sergio Campana in race two; some of the protagonists commented their weekend for F3italia.it.
Cesar Ramos (BVM-Target):
"After stewards decision to replace my engine at the end of free practice
I had a consistant decrease in speed which prevented me to go beyond the
eleventh place in qualifying, my worst starting position of the year. On
the one side I was obviously not satisfied but on the other I was even
more motivated than usual for the races whereby I managed to finish
fourth twice. I do not know how I managed to finish race one with
suspension that got broken a few turns to the flag when I was third: that
was quite a strange inconvenience as the team has done the usual
excellent job on the car.
Anyway, we proved our ability in facing any problem and the satisfaction of gaining eighteen points in the races after the problem in qualifying has been similar to that of a victory. Now we head Monza for the final round, the spectacle won't be missed: my objective will certainly not be just the title, but also the victory in both races".
Stephane Richelmi (Lucidi Motors):
"Things went fairly well, especially in race one, whereby despite
starting seventh I managed to recover up to the second place behind
Caldarelli. In the second race I was not quite ready at the start and I
lost something to Campana who started very well instead; he was overall
faster than me and I managed to got close only in the last lap. Now my
classification gap is minimal and in Monza we will have a good fight for
the title ".
Andrea Caldarelli (Prema Junior):
"I am happy of being back to the success on a challenging and selective
track like Mugello. A thank you goes to my team that supported my
technical choices and gave me the most performing single seater on this
track. Without the incident at Vallelunga I would now be second in the
classification, but I do not give up anyway and at Monza I will aim again
to the maximum possible result".
Daniel Mancinelli (Team Ghinzani):
"In race one I was given a drive through because I slightly moved on the
grid, but I'd like to point out that I started when lights went and not
before. During the year similar episodes happened in other occasions
without penalties to be given, therefore I think that my disappointment
is understandable. In race two I started well and I moved from sixth to
fourth; I attacked several times Marroc without managing to overtake him,
but Ramos behind me was much faster on straights and overtook me. My
chances to get the title are now quite small but I will try and do all
that's possible in Monza ".
