Christian Hohenadel (33, Quierschied) claimed his second ADAC GT Master podium of the season in the fifth round at the EuroSpeedway Lausitz near Berlin. The championship leader of the FIA GT3 European Championship had bad luck in recent races of the national German sportscar series, but things changed with this weekends podium finish in a Callaway Competition-Corvette Z06.R GT3 driven by Hohenadel and Swiss Toni Seiler.

Saturday's first race didn't start well for Hohenadel/Seiler, everything looked like the streak of bad luck would continue at the EuroSpeedway Lausitz. The race started on a damp track and in the fourth lap, Toni Seiler made contact with an Audi and spun. The Swiss-sportscar veteran lost 15 seconds, but it got even worse. The Stewards imposed a drive trough penalty for Seiler for pushing the Audi, which cost another 30 seconds. Hohenadel took the car halfway trough the race from Seiler on a drying track and made the risky, but at the end good decision to change to slick tires. After a few laps, Hohenadel was the quickest man on track, the fastest lap of the race showed what could have been possible. Hohenadel/Seiler finished the race in 11th position. "We were so far back halfway trough the race, that we do to something different and had to risk something", Hohenadel explained after the race. "If it would have been dry only five minutes earlier, I'm sure we could have collected points as I was the quickest driver on track, six to eight seconds faster then the leader."

In Sunday's second race, Hohenadel started from eleventh place on the grid. The start went really good, Hohenadel stormed to the front was fourth after only four laps. It went even better, Hohenadel overtook the third placed Audi and was running in a strong second place half way through the race, when he handed the yellow Corvette to teammate Toni Seiler, who finally finished the race in third position. "I had a really good start and very good first lap", said Hohenadel after he claimed his second podium position in the ADAC GT Masters this season. "I had a nice battle with Christopher Haase for third position, which I won. After so much bad luck in the last races, everything went pretty well this weekend.

There is not much time to rest now for Hohenadel, the next round of the ADAC GT Masters is scheduled in only 10 days. For the penultimate round of the season, the ADAC GT Masters will race in conjunction with the GT1 World Championship at the Nuerburgring.
