Kentucky: FAZZT Racing qualifying report

No. 77 Bowers & Wilkins/La Capsule Sportive/TorcUP FAZZT Race Team News and Notes:

* Tagliani ran his initial qualifying lap at a in 24.5926 seconds and his second was 24.6517 seconds, for a total time of 49.2443 seconds with an average speed of 216.391.

* The top three starting positions for tomorrow will be Ed Carpenter, Will Power and Dan Wheldon.

* Dario Franchitti, defending oval points champion and last week's winner at Chicagoland Speedway, is starting 11th with teammate Scott Dixon starting in forth position.

* Defending race winner, Ryan Briscoe will be starting in ninth position with teammate Helio Castroneves lining up in eight.

* In 11 races at the Kentucky Speedway for the IZOD IndyCar Series there have been 11 different pole sitters.

* Tomorrow will mark Taglianis' 37th oval start in his career with a best finish of Second at Twin Ring Motegi, Japan in 2002.

* Tagliani has scored 3 pole positions on oval tracks during his career; Brazil in 2000; Fontana, CA in 2001 and Milwaukee, WI in 2003.

* 2010 is Tagliani's first full IndyCar Series season and his 10th season of open wheel racing.

Alex Tagliani on Qualifying for the Meijer Indy 300:

"It was a good effort from everyone, the car was a little bit loose in qualifying but we were faced with a lot of wind gusts, which was very different from the conditions in the morning. Our first lap was a P9 lap but we dropped off on lap two, I got loose and we lost a little momentum, but it was still good. The car was a little closer than it was starting in Chicago and we had a really fast car in Chicago so from where we start we can definitely make it to the front."

Rob Edwards COO/General Manager on Qualifying for the Meijer Indy 300:

"I'm reasonably happy with qualifying I think we should have been in the top ten, but we just lost a little speed in turn three and four on the last lap. I think we've got a good race car for tomorrow. We had a good race in Chicago although we didn't get the result that we wanted, but I think the momentum from Chicago has carried with us though into Kentucky. We're excited about tomorrow night and putting the Bowers and Wilkins/La Capsule Sportive/TorcUP car up front."
