Kurt Busch partners with Suretone for Indianapolis 500 run

Suretone Entertainment will sponsor Kurt Busch’s No. 26 Andretti Autosport entry in the Indianpolis 500 on May 25th.

Busch, 35, unveiled his new livery on Monday in Indianapolis.

“It’s an exciting day,” Busch said in the press release. “Reality is setting in that this is real and it’s go time. For me, it’s a dream come true, but the kid in a candy store moment is all behind me. Now it’s the focus of practice time and settling in with Andretti Autosport.

“Just to have Andretti Autosport and to have Michael (Andretti) himself involved, this is the right way to do things. Their team experience will help lead my inexperience.”

Busch is just the fourth racer to attempt to drive in the Indianapolis 500/Coca-Cola 600 double on the same day. John Andretti, Robby Gordon and Tony Stewart previously attempted the 1,100-mile feat between the Brickyard and Charlotte Motor Speedway.

The 2004 Sprint Cup champion is scheduled to test on Tuesday at Indianapolis Motor Speedway from 8 to 5 p.m.

Suretone Entertainment is the creation of Jordan Schur and is based in Los Angeles. The company includes Suretone Records, Suretone Pictures and a management company that represents artists such as Fleetwood Mac, Lonestar, Indie.Arie, and ZZ Top.

Over the next month Busch will have a grueling schedule which includes practice and qualifying for the Indy 500 along with his normal NASCAR duties for Stewart-Haas Racing in the No. 41 Chevy. Busch returns for IndyCar testing on May 11th. He is expected to make no less than 10 trips between Charlotte, N.C. and Indianapolis during the month of May.

“We have our logistical travel schedule set in place – most of it -- about 95-percent of it,” Busch told Motorsport.com. “We still have to juggle with last minute weather changes or people changes. Credentials are all in place, manifests for who is flying when.

“I think all the fun portion of scheduling and anticipation is done.Now it’s about getting into execution mode, executing the sequences and settling in with the car. That’s the next step.”
