E.J. Viso "called in sick" to the Andretti Autosport team mere hours before the start of practice this morning in Fontana.
Due to not having a driver in the car, Andretti called up Carlos Munoz from his Indy Lights car to run the #5 in the IndyCar race Saturday.
It is not set in stone whether or not the Venezuelan driver will be back at the team.
Reports from the track are saying Andretti is not pleased with his drivers absence this weekend. Rumourville is rumbling that Viso has the jitters about running the big two mile oval.
At this race last season, Mike Conway stepped out of the A.J. Foyt 14 car, stating he found the oval races to be too dangerous.
Power powers to top of charts
Will Power was the only driver to break into the 220 mile per hour bracked, topping the charts with a lap of 220.889, which equates to a 32.5955 second lap.
Tony Kanaan, James Hinchcliffe, AJ Allmendinger and Helio Castroneves rounded out the top 5. Championship leader Scott Dixon ended the 90-minute session 6th overall.
Pippa Mann driving the Dale Coyne 19 entry and Takuma Sato in the 14 both ended the practice session behind the wall after separate incidents.
