Victory in South-Korean Super Race

Carlo van Dam wins at Yeongam

Yeongam - At the Yeongam circuit yesterday, Dutch racing driver Carlo van Dam and Team Chicane won the final round of the South-Korean Super Race-series. Carlo started from pole position and managed to race to victory despite some technical trouble in the final part of the race.

"This is a nice way to conclude what has been an eventful weekend", said Carlo, who again raced for the South-Korean Team Chicane in the Super 6000-class, the category for the fastest cars in the series. "On the first day we hardly did any running, because the car was sidelined due to some technical issues which forced us to miss the first race of the event. For the second race, though, I got pole position and then I had a good start and managed to pull away from the rest of the field with about a second a lap. After six laps the car's handling became quite an issue due to what later turned out to be a problem related to a wheel bearing. I managed to stay out in front, however, but then two laps before the end the engine started to become a bit of a worry. Still I was able to remain in the lead and get the car to the finish in first place. This is of course a great result, also for the team, because we together worked our way through the problems at the start of the weekend and ultimately won what was the last race of this year."
