KLAUS GRAF FASTEST IN FIRST-ROUND TRANS-AM PRACTICE AT MONTREAL
MONTREAL, Quebec (Aug. 26, 2005) -- Trans-Am points leader Klaus Graf met the learning curve quickly Friday, setting the fastest time in first-round practice as the Trans-Am Series turned its first laps at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve for the Molson Indy Montreal. Graf (No. 7 Jaguar R Performance XKR) turned the 2.747-mile permanent road course in one minute, 42.517 seconds at an average speed of 95.130 miles per hour.
Graf's Rocketsports Racing teammate Paul Gentilozzi was second quick in the No. 1 Jaguar R Performance XKR. Joey Scarallo (No. 06 Cytomax/Toyo Tires Chevrolet Corvette), Greg Pickett (No. 6 Cytomax/Muscle Milk Jaguar XKR) and Randy Ruhlman (No. 49 Preformed Line Products Canada Chevrolet Corvette) completed the top five.
Second-round practice is scheduled for 1:15 p.m. EDT today, ahead of qualifying at 5:30 p.m. Round 9 and the season finale for the 2005 Trans-Am Championship, is scheduled for Saturday at 4 p.m. EDT. Saturday's race will air on a tape-delayed basis, Sept. 18 at 1 p.m. EDT on SPEED Channel.
