Penske announces Indy 500 purse up, no guaranteed starting spots

One hundred days out from the 104th Running of the Indianapolis 500, Roger Penske, as owner of Indianapolis Motor Speedway, has announced that the purse for the Indy 500 will rise by $2m and that the controversial concept of guaranteed starting spots will not be introduced.
